ABOUT THE SPARTANS
- Tampa resumes conference play after having Wednesday off and will come to the McArthur Center looking for its first SSC win.  The Spartans dropped their first two conference contests of the season, 68-60 to Florida Tech and 68-64 to Rollins.
- UT was ranked No. 20 in the WBCA Preseason Coaches Poll but dropped out due to early losses.  The team also reached No. 25 in the D2SIDA Poll in November before falling out of the rankings.
- The Spartans are led by senior guard Juliana Cavallaro, who averages 13.3 points per game.  She is most dangerous from beyond the arc where she knocks down 41.9 percent of her 3-point attempts.  Last season, Cavallaro was a second-team All-South Region selection.
- Elena de Alfredo (11.4) and Taylor McVey (10.7) also average in double-figures in scoring.  McVey, a 6-foot-3 senior, leads the team in field goal percentage shooting 56.6 percent from the floor.
- Shooting percentage has been a rather big indicator as to the results of Tampa's games so far this season.  UT has shot 52 percent or better in two of its three wins and 43 percent or worse in three of its four losses.

ABOUT THE TRITONS
- Eckerd is coming off its worst shooting performance of the young season, making just 24 percent from the floor in a 69-49 loss to Florida Tech on Wednesday.
- The Tritons have been able to get to the free throw line quite often this season and usually make good once there, shooting 71.3 percent from the line.  EC has averaged 28.5 free throw attempts in its last four games and is shooting 82.1 percent from the line in its last three games.
- Senior guarrd Margaret Sundberg is the only player on the team averaging in double figures in scoring, entering today's game averaging 11.3 points per contest.  Five players average between 6.3 and 8.8 points per game, however, giving EC a rather balanced offense.
- Eckerd enters the day ranking 11th in the country in field goal percentage defense, holding opponents to just 32.0 percent from the field.  The team's opponent scoring average of 55.8 points per game ranks 34th in the nation.

LOOKING BACK
The Tritons swept Tampa last season, knocking off the then-No. 21 Spartans at home on January 7, 55-44, and completing the sweep with a 75-65 road win on February 11.
