WOMEN'S SOCCER GAMEDAY: Florida Southern at Eckerd

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd Triton women's soccer team kicks off the final week of the regular season with a pair of home matches, starting on Wednesday at 7:00 PM hosting Florida Southern for Senior Night.

SETTING THE STAGE
Tonight's match does not count in the conference standings, but will mean a lot to Eckerd and its large class of 11 seniors who will be honored before the match.  The Tritons (4-7-2, 1-5) haven't won since beating Florida Southern (2-9-1, 2-5) on September 23 in Lakeland and would certainly like to get back into the win column in front of their home crowd.

LAST TIME THEY MET
Taylor Tippett and Monique Elliott scored second-half goals to give the Tritons a 2-0 lead, which held until the Mocs put a mark on the board in the 90th minute as Eckerd picked up a 2-1 win on the road on September 23, 2015.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Eckerd leads the all-time series over Florida Southern, 11-7.  The last four matches in the series have been decided by a 1-0 margin with the Tritons winning the last three.

ABOUT THE MOCS
- Florida Southern is 1-4 in the month of October but has played tight matches against quality opponents.  Three of the losses have been by a 1-0 margin and the team scored a 2-1 road win over Lynn to move into position for a conference tournament berth. Six of the Mocs' last seven losses have come by a one-goal margin.
- The Mocs have struggled to generate offense this year, scoring just 0.75 goals per match.  They have been shut out in six of their last seven losses.
- Sheila Ramos leads the team with three goals while Caroline Evers and Anna Griessler each have two.  Goalkeeper Helena Norrstrom leads the conference with 88 saves and has stopped 88.2 percent of the shots she has faced.

ABOUT THE TRITONS
- Eckerd looks to break a six-match winless streak in front of a senior night crowd.  Before the game, the Tritons will honor their 11 seniors - Taylor Tippett, Lauren Monce, Shannon Estes-Larkin, Corrie Bexley, Rae Antenucci, Colleen Owen, Michelle Spesshardt, Abbey Walter, Christina Rosetti, Elena Madrazo and Katie Shafer.
- Tippett has scored Eckerd's last three goals to bring her season total to five.  She ranks 11th in the conference in goals scored.  Lauren Monce, Michelle Spesshardt, Shannon Estes-Larkin and Monique Elliott have each scored twice.
- Despite generating quality chances lately, the Tritons have struggled to put them away.  Eckerd has scored just four goals in its last six outings.
- The Tritons finish off the regular season on Saturday, hosting No. 15 Nova Southeastern at 7:00 PM.
