Box Score ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Eckerd College volleyball team fell to Florida Southern College on Friday in four hard fought sets.
The Mocs (7-3, 3-0) took set one, 25-19. Then grabbed set two, 25-20.
Set three was a back and forth battle before EC (7-5, 0-4) pulled away and grabbed the 25-19 win.
Both teams came out aggressively in set four. Five lead changes occurred and the contest was tied, 18-18.
FSC managed to pull away and grab the fourth and final set, 25-20.
Ali McAlvany managed her seventh double-double of the season with 10 kills and 12 digs.
With 17 kills,
Lauryn Nelson eclipsed her previous career high of 15. Nelson finished the match with a .517 attacking percentage.
Emily Schadow led the way dishing out 25 assists while
Gabriella Reis Guimaraes added 16 assists of her own.
The Tritons will be back in action on their home court Saturday as they host Saint Leo University (7-3, 2-1). Start time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
