Box Score MELBOURNE, Fla. - In what some would call a mud bowl, the Eckerd College men's soccer team fell to Florida Tech by a score of 3-0 Saturday night.
The Tritons (2-3-0, 0-0-0 SSC) aimed to set the tone for conference in the matchup against the Panthers.
With the field underwater and Mother Nature against both teams, a weather delay caused a break in play so the grounds crew could push water off of the field.
Florida Tech put their first goal on the board in the 10
th minute when Jeremy Tilley snuck a goal just over the reach of Triton goalkeeper,
Alex Gott.
The lone goal was all the action the first half would see as both teams struggled to deal with the elements.
After a break in play, Tech put up their second goal during the 52
nd minute.
Nick Murawski,
Shakeem Albouy, and
Marcus Lohrmann each recorded multiple shots on FIT goalkeeper Mitch Thorn, who was credited with seven saves on the day.
The Panthers third goal came off a penalty kick in the 66
th minute.
The Tritons look to even up their record on Wednesday night under the lights as they host the Saint Leo Lions in a non-conference match-up. The game is set to start on the pitch at 7 p.m.
