No. 7 Men’s Tennis Concludes Season in First Round of SSC Championship vs. No. 2 Lynn

WINTER PARK, Fla.
– The postseason run for the seventh-seeded Eckerd College men's tennis program came to a close in the Sunshine State Conference Championship against second-seeded Lynn University on Thursday morning, 6-0.

The match marked the end of seniors Madison Durley and Nikita Valuiskikh's collegiate careers as Eckerd (4-12 overall) faced the Fighting Knights (13-5 overall) for the second time this spring. The Tritons fell to Lynn in the teams' previous meeting on Feb. 15. 
 
Sophomores Yosua Adiyasa and Frazier Springfield were defeated by the Lynn tandem of Daniel Riggs and Paolo Volpocelli, 8-1.
 
Adiyasa and Springfield tabbed a team-high six wins in doubles play on the year.
 
Valuiskikh and Stephen Felman and Luke Burton and Durley each fell to their opponents, 8-2 and 8-1, respectively.
 
Singles play was called early as the Fighting Knights' No. 3, 4 and 5 slots picked up wins in straight sets.
 
No. 20 (ITA South Region Rankings) Adiyasa worked the closest singles match against No. 7 Vlad Cirla, 7-5, before his second set was suspended at 2-2. Adiyasa closed out the season at 9-7 in singles action while anchoring the top of the rotation.
 
Lynn advances to face third-seeded Rollins College on Friday in the next round.
