Box Score ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – In their conference opener, the Eckerd College men's soccer team fell to No. 11 Lynn University on Saturday night, 4-1.
Dominik Friedl found the back of the net in the 11
th minute to put LU up, 1-0. The Fighting Knights would add one more before the end of the first half.
Chris Hellmann put in a third goal for Lynn before the Tritons got on the board in the 65
th minute off the boot of
Richard Ainscough.
Ainscough put in a brilliant shot off of a free kick into the upper left corner of the goal. It was the midfielders first goal of the season.
LU managed one more goal to give them the 4-1 victory.
Alex Gott finished the contest with four saves for the Tritons, two of which were one-on-one clutch plays.
EC (2-6, 0-1) will head down to Lakeland, Fla. to take on Florida Southern (4-4-1, 0-2) on Tuesday for an SSC matchup. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
