Box Score WINTER PARK, Fla. – The Tritons were on the road Wednesday as they fell to the Tars in a tough four set match.
Eckerd came out strong as they took home the first set of the match.
Mackenzie Redner continued her hot streak coming off of a great game against Barry. The freshman took home a career high 17 kills on the night, while finishing first in hitting percentage with a .349.
The Tritons trailed the Tars for the majority of the set but a perfectly executed timeout from the coaches gave the team all the push they needed as they took the lead and won the first set, 25-23.
Untimely errors were the unfortunate killer in set two.
The Tritons were up by one on the Tars in the final points of the set, but failed to make the lead stick, falling to Rollins 25-21.
Lauryn Nelson and
Emily Schadow each grabbed two kills in set three as Eckerd failed to string together a rally, succeeding to the Tars, 25-18.
The Tritons were out of gas as the Tars came out swinging in set four.
Tjasa Kotnik nabbed six digs and hit .400 on the set, but EC could not generate the strength to take down Rollins.
Eckerd dropped set four, 25-16.
Schadow had another superb night as she set a new career high of 42 assists as she continues her reign from the setter position.
Eckerd (12-12, 3-8) will look to prepare for Friday, as they are set to face Saint Leo (17-8, 6-4) in another conference matchup. The match will begin at 7 p.m.
