Box Score FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The night cap of the soccer double-header belonged to the women's teams on Saturday as the Eckerd College women's soccer team fell to Nova Southeastern, 2-0.
EC opened the contest up with two immediate corner kicks by
Abby Sanchez and
Arie Anahory, but neither could capitalize on the opportunity.
Goalkeeper,
Morgan Crescent made two consecutive saves before the third shot from Sara Lundberg found the back of the net to put her team up, 1-0.
With the NSU defense standing strong, the Tritons managed only two shots in the first half.
Jordan Humbert got off a clean shot just 44 seconds into the second half missing just wide of the goal. For EC it would be their only shot in the second half.
Nova sent in eight shots toward the Eckerd keeper. Crescent pulled in three saves in the second half before NSU added their second goal of the game in the final minutes of play.
With two games left in the season, the Tritons move to 7-6-1, 3-3-1 on the season. They will welcome Florida College (6-5-1) to the Turley Athletic Complex on Tuesday for senior night. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
