Late Goals Bring Down Tritons

Box Score

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Eckerd College men's soccer team fought hard to tie the game up late, but fell to Nova Southeastern in the final minutes on Saturday, 3-1.

The Sharks came out swinging with their first shot of the night hitting the back of the net to put them up 1-0 in the third minute of the contest.

Nova out shot the Tritons in the first half, 10-3, but the EC defense held strong heading into halftime trailing by only one.

The second half was very physical with both teams trying to get off a clean shot.

Nick Murawski hit the ball flush for a solid shot, but it deflected off the post to keep the game 1-0.

In the 85th minute Murawski would not be denied as he sent a free kick flying past the NSU goalkeeper to even up the contest at 1-1.

The tie did not last long with the Sharks answering back with two goals less than minute apart. The Tritons were unable to recover, falling 3-1.

Eckerd (3-10-1, 1-5-1) will host Barry University (7-7-1, 3-5) for their final home game of the season on Monday. The game is slated to begin at 5 p.m.
