Box Score ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Eckerd College volleyball team fell to Lynn University in three sets on Saturday afternoon.
After a tough loss in the first set, EC was drained and couldn't come back, eventually succumbing to the Fighting Knights (7-8, 3-5).
Set one was a tight contest, with the match going back and forth until the 26
th point when Lynn finally took the set, 28-26.
Tjasa Kotnik led the charge in set two but it wasn't enough as the Tritons fell, 25-21.
With the Fighting Knights up two sets to none, the Tritons had their work cut out for them in the third set.
Led by
Madison Whiting and
Ali McAlvany, who tallied a combined seven kills, EC battled, but could not come back. Lynn took set three and the match, defeating the Tritons, 25-19.
Emily Schadow and
Gabriella Reis Guimaraes combined for 30 assists in a losing effort.
The Tritons (10-8, 2-6) will take a break from conference play as they are set to take part in the Florida Southern/South Region Crossover October 17
th and 18
th. Their first match
will begin on the 17
th at 10 a.m. as they take on Valdosta State University.
