ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd College Women's tennis program honored four student-athletes making their final home appearance on Senior Day against No. 12 Rollins College, falling on Tuesday afternoon by a 9-0 decision.
The Tritons (2-10, 0-7 SSC) recognized four seniors who played their last home matches against the Tars (14-4, 4-4 SSC), including
Manon Ironside,
Amanda Teets,
Christine Hammerschmidt and
Hanna Segal.
Ironside and Teets were both in the singles/doubles lineup as Rollins, also ranked fifth in the South Region, eventually claimed the shutout win.
The Tars featured a pair of regionally-ranked singles individuals with No. 14 Elissa DeCampli and No. 16 Ashley Rosenberg anchoring the rotation.
DeCampli and Rosenberg also formed the top doubles tandem for Rollins as they earned respective doubles victories down the line, 8-1, 8-0 and 8-0.
Rollins earned the singles sweep with straight-set decisions in all six contests. Teets and Ironside each earned a set against their opponents in efforts against Rosenberg and Ashley Loft at the No. 2 and No. 6 battles.
The Tritons will travel to Saint Leo University to face the Lions in their final regular season matchup on Friday afternoon at 2 p.m.
