TAMPA, Fla. –
Sophomore Taylor Bullock and senior Amanda Teets converged for a doubles win to highlight the Eckerd College women's tennis program's effort against No. 14 University of Tampa on Friday afternoon, 8-1.

Additionally, Bullock and Teets each won a set in their respective singles matchups for the Tritons (2-9, 0-6 SSC) while the Spartans (15-4, 3-4 SSC) also carried a ranking of sixth in the South Region.

Bullock won the first set to open her singles contest versus Lauren Hewett before the Spartan rallied to win back-to-back sets and clinch the match.

It was the same kind of storyline for Teets in the No. 6 position against Chloe Peirera after the EC senior rolled to a first-set decision of 6-1. Peirera held on to win the third and final set, 10-7.

Tampa sported a pair of nationally-ranked doubles combos with No. 12 Thashia Garcia anchoring the rotation in singles.

Today was also Senior Day for Nikol Williams and Becky Ewing, who faced off against Bullock and Teets in the final doubles matchup.

As the regular season winds down to a close, Teets, Christine Hammerschmidt, Manon Ironside and Hanna Segal, are preparing for their own Senior Day next Tuesday afternoon against Rollins College at the Turley Athletic Complex.
