BOCA RATON, Fla. – The seventh-seeded Eckerd College men's tennis program was eliminated from the title portion of the Sunshine State Conference Championship bracket against No. 2 Lynn University on Thursday afternoon, 5-0.
The Tritons (1-13 overall) will now shift their focus to the consolation round and look to bounce back against the loser of No. 3 Saint Leo University or No. 6 Florida Tech (in progress) tomorrow at 1:30 p.m.
The Fighting Knights (15-5 overall), ranked fourth nationally and third regionally, will face the winner of the same matchup between Saint Leo/Florida Tech in semifinal action.
Lynn sported four nationally/regionally ranked individuals in singles and one of the toughest doubles combos in the nation with Willi Wolfer and Vlad Cirla at the No. 2 rating.
