The Tritons defeated then-No. 6 Florida Southern in the last regular-season meeting; they renew their rivalry tonight in the SSC Championship semifinals at 7:30 p.m.

KISSIMMEE, Fla.
– After forging through the quarterfinals last night, the third-seeded and 25th-ranked Eckerd College men's basketball program is ready for a semifinal showdown in the Sunshine State Conference Championship bracket against No. 2 Florida Southern College tonight at 7:30 p.m.
 
The Tritons have won seven straight dating back to their run beginning on Feb. 13 vs. Barry University and have aspirations of punching their ticket to the finals against either No. 5 Rollins College or No. 1 Saint Leo University.
 
Currently ranked third in the NCAA South Region rankings, the Tritons have additional hopes of earning the program's 11th overall appearance in the NCAA Championship South Regional, announced this coming “Selection Sunday” night at 10:30 p.m. EST.
 
Eckerd took care of business against No. 6 seed Nova Southeastern University in quarterfinal action less than 24 hours ago, riding a career-high 24 points from senior forward Walade Wade to a 62-48 final
 
The Tritons and Mocs (22-5 overall) have dueled to an entertaining split during the regular season, including an EC triumph at home when Florida Southern was ranked sixth in the nation at the time.
 
Florida Southern overcame an early run from upset-minded Barry University in the first half and eventually pulled away in its opening-round tournament matchup. The Mocs are currently ranked 14th nationally and feature the SSC Coach of the Year in Linc Darner and two All-SSC'ers, Seth Evans and Dominic Lane.
 
EC and FSC will tip-off at 7:30 p.m. inside the Silver Spurs Arena. Tickets are $10 to the general public and free to all students from SSC institutions with a valid ID.

The SSC Championship final will feature the two semifinal winners on Sunday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. EST.
