	ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Eckerd College women's tennis program tallied its first win of the spring campaign against Warner University on a chilly Saturday afternoon at the Turley Athletic Complex, 7-2.
	
	The Tritons (1-6, 0-5 SSC) and Royals (0-2 overall) were able to play three singles contests and one doubles matchup due to roster limitations on the visitor's side.
	
	EC was playing its second non-conference dual of the season after hosting Chestnut Hill (Pa.) College earlier this week.
	
	Sophomores 
Gipson Hawn and 
Taylor Bullock each won in straight sets in the No. 3 and No. 4 spots in the singles rotation, respectively.
	
	Hawn defeated Fernanda Correa, 6-2, 6-3, and Bullock recorded a perfect, 6-0, 6-0, blanking over Warner's Cindy Prieto. Sophomore 
Carson Trapp was edged in a tough third-set tiebreaker, eventually falling to Paula Garcia in the No. 2 battle.
	
	Bullock improved the 3-4 overall on the season to lead the Tritons while Hawn notched her second singles victory.
	
	In addition to the third-set tiebreaker, the Royals' combination of Garcia and Correa claimed two more points over Bullock and senior 
Amanda Teets in doubles action, a close 8-6 decision.
	
	Senior 
Manon Ironside, sophomore 
Erika Fridrik and Teets, were all granted singles wins by default.
	
	The Tritons are back in action against another The Sun Conference opponent a week from today, hosting Ave Maria University for a noon scheduled start.
