WINTER PARK, Fla.
– Second-ranked and Sunshine State Conference-leading Rollins College remained unbeaten on the season following a shutout win collected against the Eckerd College men's soccer program on Saturday, 5-0.

After picking up their second victory of the SSC schedule against Nova Southeastern University earlier this week, the Tritons (4-9-2, 2-4-0 SSC) were handed a tough loss in another meeting against the Tars (15-0, 6-0 SSC).

Eckerd and Rollins also met in "Plus Four" competition earlier in the year in St. Petersburg.

This time around, five different players scored to lead the distribution of the Rollins offense and Tars' goalkeeper Keneil Baker improved to 14-0 in net on the season.

RC's Marten Mueller broke the scoring open early in the second minute of regulation before Tosan Popo and Grant Blackhurt each found the net before halftime, respectively.

The Tars carried a 3-0 lead into the break before Walker Hume capitalized on a corner kick and Alex Bisbee cleaned up his own rebound to cap the scoring in the second half.

Junior Alexander Starzynski and junior John Damasco each played a half in goal in the absence of starting netminder Toni Virtanen.

Starzynski made 11 saves against 14 shots he saw in the first half while Damasco, making his first entry on the field this fall, stopped three more RC shots on target.

Eckerd fired off three shots in each half against the stingy Rollins defense. Juniors Nick Murawski and Thomas Zimath with sophomore Joe Swindell each forced Baker to make saves on their respective shot attempts.

The Tritons will conclude their home portion of the regular season on Wednesday evening against No. 7 Saint Leo University with Senior Night festivities scheduled at the Turley Athletic Complex. The match is set to get underway at 7 p.m.
