ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Eckerd College women's soccer program is the next of the fall sports to break in a new year, heading to Florida College this evening for a non-conference season-opening clash in Temple Terrace at 6 p.m.
The Tritons (0-0, 0-0 SSC) will be looking for their second straight win over the Falcons (1-1-1 overall) after posting a 2-0 shutout in last year's meeting that was originally rained out on Sept. 22.
Then a freshman,
Arie Anahory, and now graduated senior,
Callie Pederson, both scored in that contest.
Having started their season on Aug. 25, the Falcons have blanked Florida Christian College, 2-0, lost to LaGrange (Ga.) College, 0-1, and tied Tennessee Temple University, 2-2.
Neither live stats nor video will be streamed for tonight's contest.
Tonight's match sets the stage for Saturday night's home opener late Saturday afternoon against Johnson & Wales (Fla.) University at the Turley Athletic Complex. The Tritons and Wildcats are scheduled to begin play at 6 p.m.
