TAMPA, Fla. - The Eckerd College women's tennis program continued Sunshine State Conference action on the road Wednesday afternoon, falling against the University of Tampa, 9-0.
The Tritons were looking to break the .500 mark in the month of March after beating Bentley (Mass.) University over the weekend and Cumberland (Tenn.) University prior in the schedule.
“We didn't need play as well as we needed to in order to beat our opponent today,” EC assistant coach
Ben Maxwell said. “The good thing is, we will have a rematch against them in a few weeks, and we'll be sure to be ready.”

Katie Benn had close matches. We have some things to work on and we're excited to go back at it again tomorrow afternoon (against Otterbein University).”
Naula and Benn each forced their opponent to a third set in the No. 4 and No. 6 singles slots, but came up just short in the effort. The pair each claimed a respective first set against their Spartan counterpart by 6-4 and 6-3 decisions.
The Tritons are back in action against Otterbein (Ohio) University on their home courts at the Turley Athletic Complex. The head-to-head contest will get underway at 3 p.m.
