No. 10 Rollins College Defeats Women’s Basketball, 72-31

WINTER PARK, Fla.
- The 10th-ranked Rollins College Tars showed why they are one of the top teams in the country this season with a decisive 72-31 win over the Eckerd College women's basketball program on Saturday.

After a back-and-forth opening 10 minutes of play, the Tars closed out the first half with a 19-7 run to extend their lead to 14 points.

The Tritons' offense struggled in the first half, shooting only 23.5 percent (4-for-17) from the field. Eckerd College senior Linsey Niles was solid in the opening stanza, scoring 10 points (3-for-4) while hitting all three of her free throw attempts.

Rollins would keep their offensive momentum going in the second half, extending their lead to as many as 41 points.

The Tars had three players score in double figures, including junior Tera McDaniel who led all scorers on the day with 15 points (6-for-8).

Eckerd will next play host to the University of Tampa Spartans on Wednesday, Jan. 11, at 5:30 p.m. Results will be posted on www.eckerdtritons.com.
