MELBOURNE, Fla. -- Tournament MVP Nick Wolf had 26 points and 10 rebounds to lead Rollins College to a 75-69 win over the Eckerd College men's basketball team on Sunday in the championship game of the 2011 BlueCross and BlueShield of Florida Sunshine State Conference Championship.
Wolf had 15 points in the second half, and the top-seeded Tars (25-6) used a 12-2 run during a four-minute stretch to post its third win against No. 3 Eckerd (22-8).
Rollins clinched an automatic bid into the NCAA South Region Tournament, while the Tritons missed out on an at-large selection.
Matt Robertson had 12 points for the Tars, while Nikola Baran added 11. Rollins shot 52 percent from the field.
Lance Kearse had 21 points in the season finale for the Tritons, and John Harper tallied 14 points. The duo was named to the all-tournament team. Woody Taylor had 10 points and six assists.
Eckerd trailed 34-28 at halftime but eventually took a 41-40 lead with 12:55 to play on a Quincy Okolie (7 points, 7 rebounds) layup.
The Tritons led 54-53 with 7:39 left following a Harper 3-pointer. But Eckerd struggled with four turnovers during the next two minutes, as Rollins built its lead to 65-56 with 3:33 remaining.
The Tars were 14-for-16 from the free-throw line in the second half.
