ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Eckerd College men's tennis team picked up its first victory of the spring following a 6-3 win over Warner (Fla.) on Sunday at the Turley Athletic Complex.
The Tritons took two doubles points and got wins at No. 2, 3, 5 and 6 singles to snap a three-match losing skid.
Hisa Sato teamed with Ben Maxwell for a victory at No. 1 doubles before taking a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Warner's Akharis Sa-ardphanchai at No. 2 singles.
Erik Thunberg and Dylan Randazzo also took their doubles match and respective singles contests. Both won their singles matches in straight sets.
J.P. Walker won a three-set match over Warner's Tiago Oliveira at No. 5 singles.
The Tritons will play host to Lake Superior State at 2 p.m. on Friday.
