ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The University of Tampa took two of the three doubles points, and Maddie Caropino took the deciding match at No. 5 singles, as the Spartans defeated the Eckerd College women's tennis team 5-4 on Friday at the Turley Athletic Complex.
The Tritons (0-3) took straight-set wins at No. 1, 2 and 3 singles, but the Spartans claimed the victory in the bottom three slots to take the win.
The Tritons will return to action at 2 p.m. on March 4, playing host to Lake Superior State.
