ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Eckerd College men's and women's tennis teams were defeated by visiting Saint Leo on Wednesday, each by scores of 8-1, at the Turley Athletic Complex.
Sonnet Ludwig took the women's lone point at No. 6 singles, thanks to a 6-0, 6-2 win over the Lions' Samantha White.
On the men's side, the Eckerd doubles tandem of Ben Maxwell and Hisa Sato won a tiebreaker over SLU's Matt Nicholson-Lewis and Victor Lozier at the No. 1 slot to claim the Triton point.
Maxwell and Sato improved to 3-0 on the young spring season.
The women's team will play host to Tampa at 3 p.m. on Friday. The men's team will play host to Warner at noon on Sunday.
