ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Eckerd College women's soccer program is raising awareness and contributing to a great cause tomorrow with a campaign called "Kick For A Cure" when it hosts Clearwater Christian College for a Tuesday 3 p.m. matchup.
All proceeds generated through concessions and admission from the game will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The Tritons will also be wearing pink uniforms in commemoration of Breast Cancer Awareness and the team will be honoring survivors in attendance.
There will be various raffles conducted throughout the afternoon.
Eckerd has also been active within in the surrounding area in the last week, participating in several community service projects under the direction of Head Coach
Danielle Fotopoulos.
The first endeavor was setting up for the popular St. Petersburg attraction known as Midtown Through Our Eyes: Taste of Midtown and Documentary.
The Tritons prepared the exhibit on Wednesday for the event, which is an annual display of student photography that aims to illustrate the experience of young people in the Midtown neighborhood.
Eckerd then bettered the community on Friday, pitching in to help greet at the St. Petersburg Free Clinic's Soup's On Hunger awareness luncheon. The 32nd annual successful event was held from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. that day.
