WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Tijana Brdar scored 17 points, and Linsey Niles added 16, as the visiting Eckerd College women's basketball team defeated Palm Beach Atlantic 59-47 on Wednesday evening.
Taylor Young added five points, 11 rebounds and four steals for the Tritons (11-7), who defeated PBA (3-18) for the second time this season.
Eckerd shot just 38 percent from the field but held the Sailfish to a 35 percent night. Brdar and Niles carried the offensive load, combining to shoot 12-for-19.
It was a season high for points for Brdar, while Niles set a new career mark.
Eckerd led 23-18 at halftime and opened the second half with a 14-2 run to grab a 37-20 lead with 16:19 to play. Brdar and Niles combined to score the Tritons' first 16 points of the half.
The Tritons led by as many as 20 points with 5:58 remaining and never led by less than double figures the rest of the way.
Eckerd will return home on Saturday with a Sunshine State Conference matchup against Lynn. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. and can be seen live on EckerdTritons.com.
