ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Kati Rausberg had 22 points, including the go-ahead 3-pointer with 1:28 left in overtime, to lead the Eckerd College women's basketball team to a 44-43 win over visiting Barry on Sunday afternoon.
Rausberg, who tied the school's career record for 3-pointers made, also had a career-high 11 rebounds to lift the Tritons (8-3, 2-0 Sunshine State Conference). Eckerd shot just 36 percent overall but held the Buccaneers (7-4, 0-2) to 22 percent.
Reserve guard Jen Mitchell paced Barry with 11 points, while Yvonne Houston had 10 points on 4-for-17 shooting.
Eckerd was down 35-28 with 11:58 left before Barry went cold from the floor. The Buccaneers made just two field goals the rest of the game.
After the teams were tied at 41-41 at the end of regulation, Barry took a 43-41 advantage following a Houston jumper with 3:16 remaining in overtime.
But Rausberg gave the Tritons the lead for good with her fourth trey of the day – tying her with Lori Warriner with 135 career 3-pointers.
The Tritons will play host to Tampa at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The game will be part of an SSC doubleheader with the men's team.
