ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Eckerd College volleyball team will make their 2010 home debut on Tuesday, hosting top-ranked Tampa in its Sunshine State Conference opener.
The Tritons (5-3) are coming off a good performance at the Peggy Martin Challenge in Warrensburg, Mo. Eckerd defeated No. 20 Pittsburg State on Friday and the Academy of Art on Saturday.
The Tritons also nearly picked up upsets against No. 8 Indianapolis and No. 13 Emporia State. Eckerd fell in a five-set marathon against ESU.
The Tritons received 12 votes in the latest AVCA Coaches Top 25 poll, which was released on Monday. Tampa moved up to No. 1 after being ranked No. 2 last week.
