LAKELAND, Fla. - In the opening round of the Sunshine State Conference Tournament, the Eckerd College women's tennis team were defeated by No. 4 Barry University, 5-0, at the Beerman Tennis Facility that is located in Lakeland, Florida.
The Tritons, who are in the eighth seed of the tournament, were swept in doubles competition, dropping to the No. 1 competition 8-0, 8-1 in the No. 2 slot, and 8-0 in No. 3 doubles. Only two matches were played in singles round, which were the No. 3 and 4 slots. Both fell to their opponents 6-0, 6-0.
The Tritons will compete in a back draw match tomorrow, April 16, against Florida Tech. Match is set to start at 2:00 pm.
