ST. PETERSBURG, Fla - The Eckerd men's tennis squad earned their third victory this afternoon as they edged the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish, 5-4, at the Turley Athletic Complex.
The Sailfish won two sets of doubles action, while the Tritons No. 2 doubles
Hisa Sato and
Erik Thunberg defeated their competition, 8-6.
Eckerd was victorious in four of their single matches. Sato won by default at No. 2 singles, while Thunberg went three sets with his opponent to take the win (4-6, 6-4, 6-3) at No. 4 singles.
Jon Bonner and
Alex McDonald were the winners for No. 5 and No. 6 singles, both taking their opponents out in two sets.
Eckerd will be back in action Monday, March 15th, as they head own to Lakeland to take on Florida Southern. Match is set for 3:00 pm.
