Volleyball Gets Road Win at Palm Beach Atlantic

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- The Eckerd College volleyball team closed out the non-conference season with a 3-1 win (25-23, 21-25, 25-16, 25-19) over Palm Beach Atlantic on Friday.

Freshman Lindsay Biggs continued her standout year with 19 kills and 14 digs to lead the Tritons (8-15). It was her fourth consecutive double-double and her 12th of the year. Olivia Fraser added 12 kills and seven digs, while Ariana Chinn had 10 kills.

Freshman setter Madison Burr was credited with 32 assists, 11 digs and three service aces. Hallie Ward had a team-best 21 digs.

Jennifer Eldridge led Palm Beach Atlantic (18-8) with 15 kills and 13 digs.

After struggling to split the first two sets, Eckerd came alive after halftime. Fraser had five kills on just seven swings in the third set to lift the visitors. The Tritons won 10 of the set's final 12 points.

Biggs helped close the match with eight kills on 12 attempts in the fourth, as Eckerd hit .361. Up 12-9, Eckerd went on a decisive 5-0 run to get control.

The Tritons will return home at 7 p.m. on Wednesday against Sunshine State Conference rival Florida Tech.
