FORT LAUDERDALE
, Fla. - Ashley Lutz led with 12 points but the Eckerd Tritons (5-6, 0-3 SSC) lost to the Nova Southeastern Sharks (8-6, 2-2 SSC), who had 11 players score at least two points, by a score of 64-43 on Saturday afternoon at NSU's University Center.

In the first stanza, a three-pointer by Krystal Charles gave Eckerd an 18-14 lead with 9:44 left to play but NSU responded by out-scoring the Tritons, 16-7, the rest of the half, thanks in large part to three trifectas made by reserve guard Tara Haddock.

NSU's run gave the Sharks a 30-25 halftime lead as they out-shot Eckerd 39.4 to 34.5 percent in the half while out-rebounding the Tritons, 23-18. Kati Rausberg led the Tritons with six points in the half while Haddock and Stevie Kamp each scored nine points for NSU.

In the second half, it was all NSU as the Sharks started the half on a 12-0 run while Eckerd went 11:30 without a basket, putting NSU on the path to its 21-point victory.

Taylor Young added seven points for the Tritons while Kamp and LaShawnna Edwards led the Sharks with 12 points each.

Eckerd will return to action on Wednesday, January 13 as it hosts Tampa at 5:30pm at the McArthur Center.
