ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - After a scoreless first half, Eckerd Tritons (6-10) used four second half goals to cruise past the Johnson & Wales Cougars (2-10), 4-0, on Thursday evening at the Turley Athletic Complex.
In the 69th minute,
Kiki Gonzalez put the Tritons on the board after a pair of passes by
Anthony Arico and
Colin Kuhn. Arico added to the score in the 72nd minute after a feed from
Joe Copland. In the final 10 minutes of the game,
Andrew Diggs and
Derek Hall each tallied their first goals of the season while
Will Holmes registered his first career point, assisting on Diggs' goal.
The game marked the conclusion of the 2009 season for Eckerd as well as the careers of
Luke Sheekey, Kuhn, Copland, and
Will Thacker.
