ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - In returning home, the 22nd-ranked Eckerd Volleyball team shut out Bentley University 3-0 (18-25, 15-25, 21-25) on Monday evening.

Lydee Benoit, sophomore
Ariana Chinn and freshman
Taylor Whaley recorded 17, 9 and 9 kills, respectively, as the Eckerd Tritons increased their overall record to 11-7. Eckerd had an overall attack percentage of .364, holding Bentley to .194.
Coach Courtney Draper rejoiced, "I couldn't ask for anything more, we only had one reception error so that was great. I thought we were very balanced both offensively and defensively. Everybody contributed, all 14 players, and those are fun matches when it's a total team effort."
The Tritons dominated the match, with a total of six blocks.
Bri Smith accrued 27 assists while
Megan Golovkin obtained 23.
Hallie Ward led the Tritons with 13 digs, while Whaley and Benoit tallied 11 and 9, respectively.
The Bentley Falcons accrued a total of 33 kills with Alex Kearney and Amy Waitkus leading with eight each.
Eckerd will return to action on Friday, October 16, Dig Pink Night, as it hosts Arkansas-Monticello at 7pm at the McArthur Center.
