Dr. Skaftadottir came to Eckerd in 1993 as a member of the Education program faculty, where she oversaw the Program for Experienced Learners for many years before joining the Bevan Center for Academic Excellence. 

As assistant dean, Dr. Skaftadottir provides both academic coaching and scholarship/fellowship advising. 

Dr. Skaftadottir received her Master’s and Ph.D. in Education from Emory University after having completed her Bachelor’s in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Iceland. 

She has two college-age sons, one at Eckerd and one on the other side of the state.
