After carrying over valuable coaching and competing experience, Marks assumed the full-time role of assistant coach under the direction of Kevin Reali beginning in the fall of 2012. The 2016-17 season will be his fifth as a member of the Eckerd coaching staff.

In addition to his coaching duties, Marks also shares responsbilities on the event management staff in the fall and spring seasons.

Marks was the interim head coach of the program for a short term while sailing transitioned into becoming a full-fledged member of the athletics department.

In the spring of 2012, Marks helped navigate the EC women's program to its third straight ICSA national appearance in Austin, Texas, as the team finished 11th overall.

Coming into Eckerd, Marks brought plenty of success from the collegiate level as an undergraduate sailor at the University of South Florida.

While sailing with the USF Bulls, Marks was a four-year letterwinner and earned Honorable Mention All-American honors following his senior campaign. He was also selected to the All-Academic Team.

He attended St. Petersburg Catholic High School where he was active in junior sailing, specifically with the Laser model.

Marks continues to be active on the racing circuit, specifically kiteboard course racing. Over the summer, he competed at the North American Championship located in San Francisco at the St. Francis Yacht Club.

Marks received his degree in Economics and Finance with a minor in sailing at the University of South Florida in 2011. He currently resides in St. Petersburg.
