Estes officially joins the Eckerd College softball coaching staff in time for the 2014 spring campaign with extensive experience at the high school and club levels.

Since 2001, Estes has been coaching at East Lake High School, holding head coaching responsibilities since 2006. He has also served as head coach of the Clearwater Lady Bombers, an elite travel club, since 1997.

In his time as head coach at East Lake, he has guided the program to a record of 144-47 in a seven-year span, including a pair of final four appearances, two regional championships, three district championships and four district runner-up performances.

East Lake finished the 2010-11 season ranked No. 9 in the nation by Max Preps and Estes has been honored three times as the Pinellas County Softball Coach of the Year.

In addition to his accomplishments on the field, Estes has doubled his coaching responsibilites at the prep level with success guiding the East Lake volleyball team.

Estes coached his squad to a Florida Class 8A state title in 2011 and he garnered 2011 Max Preps 2011 National Volleyball Coach of the Year Accolades. Last year, East Lake was a regional finalist and his career record is an impressive 51-5.

Following East Lake's state title, Estes was also named the Florida Dairy Farmers 8A Coach of the Year.

Estes graduated from Gibbs High School in St. Petersburg and currently resides in Pinellas Park.
