CAREER RESULTS

2016-2017 (Junior): Competed in five regattas during his junior campaign as skipper…Placed in the top three in each regatta during the season with three first place finishes at SAISA Open (Feb. 18), Spring South Points #2 (March  4), and Fall South Points #2 (Sep. 17).

2015-16 (Sophomore): Did not compete in a regatta.

2014-15 (Freshman): Competed on 12 occasions in 11 regattas as skipper throughout freshman campaign...Finished in the top 10 in all but one event...Earned three consecutive first place finishes at SAISA South Points #2 (March 7), Eckerd Interconference (March 14) and SAISA South Points #4 (March 21).

Prior to Eckerd: Attended Rockwall-Heath High School…Took home a multitude of awards during high school, including, 2011 “A” Fleet Skipper in the Baker and Mallory Cups...Area “F” Representative in 2010 Sears Cup, 2011 Multi-hull and Youth Multi-hull Championships…2011 Butterfly Jr. National Champion…18^th in the 2010 SL 16 World Championship…2^nd in 2012 Hobie Youth North American Championship…3^rd in the 2013 Texas Sailing Association Laser Circuit.

Personal: Born Jun. 20^th…Son of Dawn and Michael Nelson…Has two brothers, Stephen (20) and Zach (15)…Michael (Father) was a member of the 1978-83 Oregon State University Ski Team…Hobbies include computers, bicycling, and traveling…Chose Eckerd over University of Hawaii and Old Dominion University.
