He is  the owner of The Spot Athletic Center in Palmetto, Florida, while also owning  Bay Area Pro Baseball, a travel baseball organization out of Tampa Bay. 

A native to the area, Wells played at Hillsborough Community College. He prepped at Palmetto High School, graduating in 2005. He earned all-area, all-county, and all-state honorable mention. 

He and his wife Ashley Wells have a son Gavin and a daughter Sienna.
