2011: Was a weekend starter in first season at Eckerd...Was second on team in innings pitched (55 1/3) and tallied 29 strikeouts...Picked up first win as a Triton on March 11 against Viterbo, striking out six and allowing just one run in five innings...Went five innings and surrendered two runs against SSC rival Saint Leo on May 1, a game Eckerd eventually won.

Pre-Eckerd: Played at Hillsborough CC and was 3-3 on the mound in 2009.

High School: Was an All-Conference pick during freshman year at East Bay High School, where he played for his father, Nelson.

Personal: Born on Feb. 6, 1989 in Tampa, Fla...Son of Nelson and Kristi Menendez...Father played at Florida Southern...Favorite team is the Tampa Bay Rays and favorite player is Matt Garza...Chose Eckerd for the chance to play in the SSC, and he liked the atmosphere of Eckerd as a whole.
