2012 (Senior): Selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 27th round (840th overall selection) of the 2012 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft and assigned to Batavia Muckdogs (NY-Penn League)...Recipient of the Male Harley Award, Triton Award and Most Valuable Player, at the school's end-of-the-year athletics banquet...ABCA/Rawlings Second Team All-South Region selection...ABCA/Rawlings All-South Region Gold Glove Team...Daktronics All-South Region Second Team...All-Sunshine State Conference Second Team...Semifinalist for Tino Martinez Division II Player of the Year Award...Preseason ABCA/Rawlings All-American pick...Three-time SSC Pitcher of the Week (April 9, March 19, Feb. 6)...Three-time NCBWA South Region Pitcher of the Week (April 9, March 19, Feb. 6)...Compiled 6-4 record on the mound with a 2.92 ERA in 86.1 innings pitched...Ranked fifth in the nation in strikeouts (114), and 17th in strikeouts per nine innings (12.09)...Displayed impeccable control on the hill with 114 strikeouts tallied versus just 14 walks on the season...Was just four strikeouts shy of equaling EC's single-season strikeout record set by Jim Mecir (1990) with 118...Totaled a career-high 14 strikeouts against No. 2 University of Tampa (April 28) and Rollins College (April 5)...Started 12 games among 14 appearances...Collected a pair of saves in games in a relief role...Held hitters to a .227 batting average...Scattered one hit in six scoreless innings with nine punchouts in his spring debut against Warner University (Feb. 1)...Fanned seven in a three-inning scoreless relief stint against Ave Maria University (Feb. 20)...Recorded a dozen strikeouts against Florida Memorial University (March 2) in a seven-inning complete-game effort...Limited Palm Beach Atlantic University (May 4) to just one run in an eight-inning gem for the winning decision to close out his collegiate career.

2011 (Junior): Had breakout season during junior campaign...Became the first Triton to be named Sunshine State Conference Pitcher of the Year after finishing second in the league in ERA (1.66), innings pitched (108 2/3) and third in strikeouts (110)...Was also a first-team selection on the Daktronics All-South Region team...Also named SSC Pitcher of the Week after complete-game win at Lynn on April 22...Allowed one earned run or less in nine of his 13 appearances...Struck out 10 batters or more five times, including career-high 13 in win over Palm Beach Atlantic on March 4...Was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District second team and was also named to the SSC Spring Commissioner's Honor Roll.

2010 (Sophomore): Led Tritons in innings (82.2), wins (5) and strikeouts (91)...Also had team-high 13 starts...Struck out 10 batters or more four times, including career-best 11 against Southeastern (Feb. 23) and Lynn (April 24)...Allowed only two runs in final 13 innings pitched...Management major was named to SSC Commissioner's Honor Roll following spring semester. 

2009 (Freshman): Appeared in 15 games while making a team-high 13 starts...Compiled a 5-5 win-loss record to go along with a team-best 78 innings pitched and 71 strikeouts.

Prior to Eckerd: Played under Coach Bob Hamilton at the Canterbury School of Florida…Earned State Player of the Year honors…A First Team All-State selection and First Team All-Suncoast…Also named Second Team All-County and Team MVP during his career.

Personal: Born on Sept. 13, 1989 in St. Petersburg, Fla…Son of Judy Smith...Has two older siblings, Bobby Smith and Lalania Corces…Majoring in business management...Lists Derek Jeter as his favorite athlete and the Tampa Bay Rays as his favorite team…Chose Eckerd because of its challenging academics and its baseball program.
