MELBOURNE, Fla. — Hannah Taylor and Brandilyn Reymer of the Eckerd softball team have been named the Sunshine State Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
Taylor earned Player of the Week honors after batting .500 (11-22) across six games last week and tallying four doubles and a pair of home runs. She posted at least one hit in each of the six games and had four multi-hit efforts, including a three-hit game in a 21-1 win over Webber International. Taylor also collected eight runs batted in on the week and walked twice.
Reymer joins her teammate as Pitcher of the Week after racking up 39 strikeouts in four appearances. She punched out 13 in the team's victory over Webber International on Tuesday and earned the win before striking out seven and allowing just two hits in Friday's win over Columbus State. She closed the week with a career high and school record 15 strikeouts in an 8-1 victory over Georgia Southwestern. Reymer allowed just one earned run in 27 innings of work.
