ST. PETERSBURG -- Eckerd College has announced the unveiling of the school's new official mascot, Triton Harley XCV.

The process began with a brainstorming session to hear more about the history of our mascot, and to talk through some concepts, which involved all the key groups on campus such as:
- ECOS
- SAAC
- President's Leadership Council
- Athletics staff,
- Admissions
- Advancement
- Student Affairs
- Marketing & Communications
- Faculty
We followed up to the brainstorming session with a survey. After that, we formed a student-led steering committee to design the mascot based on the feedback from the session and survey. They took about three months to form the design and the final design was approved by the committee, ECOS, and SAAC.
The mascot comes with a full profile, with likes and dislikes, as well as a biography.
