DADE CITY, Fla. - Hits were at a premium at Mary Cannon Cabot Stadium, as the teams combined for just four hits in the games, as the Eckerd softball team fell 1-0 to No. 14 Saint Leo on the road Friday night.
In a pitcher's duel, neither team was able to get a runner in scoring position until the bottom of the fourth as Lions loaded the bases and scored the game's lone run on an RBI single before Eckerd coaxed a double play to end the game.
Eckerd looked to rally in the seventh, with Ella Coiner drawing a walk to lead off the frame, but the Lions turned a double play to end the threat.
