ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - An two-run first inning propelled the Eckerd softball team to a 5-2 victory over No. 4 Tampa at the Turley Athletic Complex on Friday afternoon.
Addisan Langston started the Tritons off with a two-run single in the first inning for Eckerd to get the 2-0 jump. In the bottom of the fourth, Eckerd grew their lead to five, scoring three runs on Lex Difato's at-bat.
The Spartans put up a late innings rally, attempting to close the Triton deficit, but Eckerd closed the door, with Brandilyn Reymer pitching a complete game, recording 10 strikeouts in the 5-2 victory.
