DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Eckerd women's tennis team fell to No. 5 Embry-Riddle, 6-1 in Daytona Beach on Saturday afternoon.
The Tritons (9-10) fell to Embry-Riddle (19-3) with the Eagles sweeping the doubles point, and Eckerd securing only one of six singles matches.
In the top singles spot, No. 42 Olivia Lindestaf knocked off the Eagles' top No. 53 Laura Cuesta Bret in a three-set thriller. After dropping the first set 6-2, Lindestaf rallied back to a second set victory, 6-2. The pair battled in the tiebreak, doubling the seven-point mark, where Lindestaf prevailed with a 14-12 victory.
