ST.PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd softball team added five runs over the final three innings to take the series opener against Lynn, 6-1, at the Turley Athletic Complex on Friday night.
Eckerd scored early for a 1-0 lead in the second inning as Hannah Taylor delivered an RBI single. However, the Knights evened the score in the next frame with a double steal.
The Tritons rallied for three runs in the fourth inning, loading the bases with two outs. Molly Scott scored on a wild pitch, and Ashely Cain followed with a two-run single for a 4-1 tilt. EC added a pair of insurance runs in the sixth on an error and an RBI single from Abby Lucas.
