SAINT LEO, Fla. -- The Eckerd men's tennis team concluded the fall with appearances at the Saint Leo Invitational and Embry-Riddle Invitational.
At Saint Leo, the Tritons saw several wins in singles.
Adrian Gheorghe knocked off his counterpart from Saint Leo in three sets to start the tournament, while
Marshall Hulett,
Valdemar Spillemose,
Amirali Ghavam, and
Oskar Ekjord all won their first match in straight sets.
Colbin Campbell also began the tournament with a win after bouncing back from a first-set loss to win in three.Â
Spillemose, Gheorghe, Ghavam, and Ekjord all won their second contest on day two, with
Mario Kirkov joining the win column with a straight-set decision over his opponent from MAU. Ghavam grabbed his third singles win on the final day, while Kirkov and
Batu Ataseven each contributed wins on day three.
In doubles, Kirkov and Spillemose won over their conference foe from Saint Leo by a score of 8-6. Campbell/Ekjord and Hulett/Gheorghe also won their matches on day one. The duo of Ataseven and Ghavam also picked up a pair of wins, including an 8-6 victory over Saint Leo.
At Embry-Riddle, the Tritons saw a total of 11 doubles wins, including three from Ataseven and Gheorghe. Kirkov won three matches in singles to lead the Tritons.
