DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Eckerd softball team rallied for three runs in the seventh inning but could not complete the comeback, falling 5-4 on the road at Embry-Riddle on Saturday to conclude the season.
Embry-Riddle jumped out to a four-run lead in the opening frame. Eckerd plated a run in the third with a sacrifice fly from Ella Coiner before ERAU made it a 5-1 game on an RBI ground out in the fourth.
The Tritons rallied for three runs in the seventh to pull within one. A run scored on an error before Lauren Margolis added a two-run double. Eckerd had two runners on with two outs, but the Eagles coaxed a fly-out to end the game.
