ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd women's tennis team fell to the University of Tampa, 6-1 on Friday afternoon.
The Tritons (9-7) fell to the Spartans (10-3) after dropping the doubles point and winning one singles match.
The Spartans swept the doubles point despite Kylie Misdorp and Maya Soligo putting up a hard fight in the No. 2 position, falling 6-4.
Olivia Lindestaf picked up the lone point for Eckerd in the No. 2 singles, rallying back from a 6-3 first-set loss. She bounced back to take set two 6-4, and ultimately take the match 10-6 in set three.
Catherine Cole almost sent the No. 6 position to a third set, but she fell 6-1, 7-5.
The Tritons host Barry University Saturday at the Fred Bullard Courts at 10:00 AM.
