SAINT LEO, Fla. - The Eckerd baseball team dropped its series opener to No. 3 Saint Leo 6-2 despite taking an early 2-1 lead on the road Friday night.
The Lions were first on the board in the first for a 1-0 lead. The Tritons answered back in the next frame with a two-run single by Reid Lisle through the right-side gap to make it a 2-1 game in favor of Eckerd.
The Tritons did not have the lead for long before the Lions scored another two runs of their own in the bottom of the second. They added another run in the third for a 4-2 advantage. The Lions added two insurance runs in the eighth to close the game, 6-2.
